DIY Teeth Whitening by ProGrin Dental Greenville SC
With so many DIY tricks out there, it’s no wonder that the amazing life hackers controlling the pinterest world have figured out a way to whiten teeth naturally using ingredients found in your home. In this blog, ProGrin Dental Greenville SC will be discussing which ones are the most effective!
Hydrogren Peroxide and Baking Soda
This substitute mouth wash packs a powerful punch to those stubborn coffee stains. Simply mix an equal ratio and rinse for 90 seconds. You can also use 25% peroxide to 75% baking soda for a substitute toothpaste. We do not recommend replacing your toothpaste with this concoction all the time, but it is a great substitute every once in a while.
Banana Peel
This is our funniest DIY idea, but it actually works! You can rub your teeth with the banana peel to absorb rich vitamins and minerals in to your enamel. Bananas are rich in manganese, potassium, and magnesium. Rub the banana peel on your teeth for two minutes after you brush and floss. Then rinse and repeat!
Apple Cider Vinegar
If you mix one part vinegar to three parts water, you can add the solution to your toothpaste and brush as usual.
Coconut oil
The fat content in coconut oil breaks down into teeth whitening enzymes. When saliva comes into contact with the oil, an oxygen molecule is formed to help bust up those silly stains. Many people are into oil pulling, but if you do not want to swish for 20 minutes you can add 2 tsp. of baking soda to a few drops of peppermint or spearmint oil and mix with a cup of heated coconut oil. Rinse as you would with listerine!
Strawberry Paste
The malic acid contained in strawberries is great for dissolving wine and tea stains. Strawberry paste is a simple mix of mashed up strawberries and baking soda. Use a child’s toothbrush to rub the creation in between your teeth. The smaller bristles help to get the strawberries in the crevices of your teeth.
